Police offcials in Elizabeth are on the search for a gunman who fired shots at a motel in Elizabeth that struck a person Saturday night.
According to police, gunfire erupted outside of the Oak Grand Motel located at the intersection of Grand and Spring streets shortly before 10:50 p.m.
When police arrived, they found multiple shell casings on the ground and a man who barricaded himself inside the laundry room of the motel.
Police say an Emergency Services Unit was called to the scene to help get the victim out of the room. The unidentified male was transported to University Hospital in Newark in stable condition.
The suspect wanted for the shooting fled the scene and remain at-large.
Police offcials have not released a motive for the shooting at this time.
