Hospitals in the region have been notified to be on the lookout for potential gunshot victims after blood evidence was found at the scene of a shots fired incident this evening in Newark’s West Ward.
At approximately 8 p.m., a ShotsSpotter device detected over a half dozen rounds of gunfire near 626 15th Avenue.
Several units at the scene found shell casings and blood, but no victims were located.
The suspect fled the scene and remained at large.
Police have the area taped off for the investigation.
UPDATE: A male gunshot victim was dropped off at University Hospital around 8:22 p.m.
