Pasaic County authorities are investigating a shooting that killed one person overnight in the city.
Reports of shots fired that rang out in the 400 block of East 25th Street sent police to the scene where they found an unconscious and unresponsive person suffering a gunshot injury to the head at that location.
The victim was pronounced dead a short time later by medical staff according to initial reports from the scene.
Homicide detectives were on the scene searching the area for evidence and a possible suspect.
The identity of the victim and the motive for the shooting has not been released at this time.
