Police in Jersey City are investigating a shooting that left one person dead in the city overnight.
Reports of shots fired sent police to the 200 block of Clinton Avenue shortly before 3 a.m. where arriving officers located a male victim suffering serious injuries after being shot to the head at that location.
The victim died a short time later according to reports.
Police set up a crime scene in the area where they searched for evidence and possible suspects who were responsible for the fatal shooting.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
