Good Samaritan Rushes Downtown Newark Stabbing Victim to Hospital

Authorities in Newark are investigating a stabbing that left a man in critical condition late Thursday night in the city’s downtown area.  

According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, police were alerted at approximately 9:12 p.m. when a stabbing victim arrived at University Hospital seeking treatment. 

Investigators later determined that the attack took place in the 900 block of Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson Boulevard (Broad Street).

A Good Samaritan reportedly discovered the wounded man lying on the street and acted quickly, transporting him to the hospital before emergency responders arrived.  

The victim remains in critical condition as detectives work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Newark police continue to investigate.
