Paterson Police are on the search for a suspect who fired shots in a neighborhood in the city that injured two victims.
According to a preliminary investigation, officials at St. Joseph's Hospital contacted police when two victims entered the emergency room, suffering bullet wounds at approximately 12:42 p.m.
When police arrived at the hospital, the victims told reported that the incident happened in the vicinity of Godwin Avenue and Straight Street.
The victim said a gunman produced a weapon and began to fire multiple rounds in their direction before fleeing the scene.
Police say officers found shell casings while searching the area for evidence.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
