Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced the arrest of Glen Rock Police Department Sergeant Eric J. Ready, 51, of Hackensack.
Sergeant Reamy, who was the Evidence Officer in charge of the Detective Bureau, is charged with seven (7) counts of theft by failure to make required disposition of property received, specifically by taking custody of weapons (handguns, rifles) that were surrendered to the Glen Rock Police Department and selling the weapons at two gun stores as though they were his own property.
Also, a laptop and a pellet gun, which should have been secured in evidence, were recovered during the execution of a search warrant at Sgt. Reamy’s previous address on August 5, 2015.
All of the counts of theft by failure to make required disposition of property received are crimes of the third degree.
