Gas Station Attendant Assaulted During Second Armed Robbery in Newark's East Ward on Christmas Day

The second armed robbery of a gas station that took place this morning in the city's East Ward has police on the scene investigating.

Reports of an armed robbery at the Globe gas station located in the 300 block of Raymond Boulevard sent police to the establishment shortly before 9 a.m.

Several units arrived to the scene to find one of the attendants suffering injury after reportedly being assaulted with a weapon by armed suspects.

The attendants told police that a blue or grey colored Nissan Altima that was occupied by at least three black males (who were armed with weapons) pulled up to the station and demanded cash from two attendants.

While the attendants were attempting to hand-over proceeds to the suspects, the men went on the attack according to the attendants.

EMS treated the attendant at the scene for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspects reportedly fled westbound on Raymond Boulevard according to reports.

At around 8:30 a.m. in the area of Elm Street and Pulaski Street, a female victim contacted police after 2-3 black male suspects exited a vehicle and robbed her at gunpoint for personal possessions.

The woman did not suffer any physical injuries.
