Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect wanted for an armed robbery that occurred at a gas station in the city's South Ward Sunday morning.
According to police, the early morning robbery happened at the Gulf Station located at 242 Elizabeth Avenue at approximately 4:30 a.m.
Police say the attendant reported that while engaged in a transaction, a man armed with a gun chased him inside the booth and demanded money with the weapon pointed at his head.
The suspect -only described as a black male- took over $300 before running from the scene.
There were no physical injuries reported.
