Police took a Garfield woman into custody and charged her with stealing from homes where she was assigned as a home health aide to work.
Officers arrested Mariela Del Rosario, 30, on Wednesday morning for theft for at least two incidents that occurred last year, authorities said.
In one of the Franklin Lakes incidents, Del Rosario allegedly stole a laptop, jewelry, and credit cards from a Courter Road residence and she took several items from a Meadow Lane home that was reported missing in September 2016 police said.
Police said Del Rosario was employed as a home health aide at both locations when she took the items that are valued at around $20,000.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
