New Jersey State Police officials are looking into a crash on a NJ highway that shut down a portion of the road and snarled traffic for early morning commuters.
Details are developing and pending a NJ State Police information request, but according to preliminary reports, the crash happened on the Garden State Parkway's northbound lanes just south of exit 138 in Kenilworth where police closed all lanes due to the collision before 2:50 a.m.
According to initial reports, the driver of one of the vehicles involved was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes during the impact.
As of 5:05 a.m., The NJ State Police have not officially confirmed the numbers of vehicles involved, an injury count or if there were any fatalities.
The crash caused about a 2-mile delay with heavy traffic backed up on the roadway.
