NJ State Police officials are investigating a Garden State Parkway crash that sent several people to the hospital.
The violent crash occurred at approximately 1:10 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway near exit 135 where police say they were called to the scene to investigate reports of a car crash.
Units arrived at the scene to find the two-vehicle crash with one of the cars on its roof.
EMS transported about four victims to the hospital, including University in Newark, suffering various injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
