Kennedy International Airport on December 24, 2024, after 15 years as a fugitive, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.JamaicanChaudhry Yousaf, 52, formerly of Valley Stream, New York, was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Three days later, Yousaf was extradited to New Jersey, where he remains in custody at the Ocean County Jail.

The crash occurred on March 28, 2009, near milepost 77 of the Parkway.

An investigation by the New Jersey State Police revealed that Yousaf, driving a black Lincoln Town Car with two passengers, lost control of the vehicle, struck a road sign, and crashed into a tree.

One passenger, Harris Kahn, 26, of Queens, New York, died the following day from his injuries. The second passenger, Kishwa Jahan, 32, also of Queens, was treated and released from a local hospital.

At the crash scene, troopers noted that Yousaf appeared intoxicated. He was charged with Driving Under the Influence and Vehicular Homicide and later released on $150,000 bail.

However, Yousaf failed to appear for a court date in February 2010, prompting the issuance of a bench warrant for his arrest.

Yousaf’s whereabouts remained unknown until his recent apprehension at JFK Airport.
