Newark residents are waking up to another bitterly cold morning as the deep freeze continues to grip the region this Saturday.

As of early morning, temperatures in downtown Newark sit at just 20 degrees, with winds gusting at 13 mph, making it feel even colder at 15 degrees.

The National Weather Service (NWS) is advising residents to bundle up, as wind chills will remain in the 10 to 20-degree range throughout the day.

However, relief is on the way.

Today's forecast calls for sunny skies with a high near 39 degrees, and tonight will be partly cloudy, with temperatures dipping to around 28 degrees.

While another chilly night is ahead, temperatures will gradually begin to rise on Sunday, leading to a much milder and more comfortable week ahead.

By midweek, highs are expected to reach the mid-50s, offering a welcome break from the recent frigid conditions.

So, for now, New Jerseyans just need to get through one more cold day before a more pleasant stretch arrives.
