Frigid Start to the Week for Last-Minute Christmas Shopping in Newark, North Jersey

Newark residents are starting the week with exceptionally cold weather, as temperatures early Monday morning dipped to 14 degrees, with wind chill making it feel as low as 10 degrees.Isaiah HouseConditions are even more severe in other parts of North Jersey, with Sussex County recording a biting -1 degrees and Morristown at a chilly 7 degrees.

The National Weather Service advises that while the winds have slightly decreased from yesterday, the cold remains intense.

If you're heading out for any last-minute Christmas shopping, be sure to bundle up.

Today's forecast promises sunny skies but a high of only 27 degrees. Wind chill values will linger between 10 and 20 degrees. Light winds from the south are expected to pick up slightly in the afternoon.
