Residents in Newark and across North Jersey are waking up to a chilly 26 degrees this morning, with frigid conditions gripping the region.
While today offers some relief with sunny skies and seasonable highs, forecasters warn that an incoming cold front will bring even colder temperatures in the coming days.
According to the National Weather Service, today's forecast is sunny with a high near 40 degrees, though wind chill values will make it feel like 20 to 30 degrees.
Tonight, clouds will increase, and temperatures will dip to around 30 degrees.
With the colder weather on the way, residents are encouraged to bundle up and prepare for layers as brutal temperatures are expected to settle in soon.
