The Friends of the Child Advocacy Center of Union County is hosting its 6th Annual Race 4 The Children 5- kilometer run/2-mile walk on Sunday, October 16th, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. in Warinanco Park, Roselle.
Organizers said all race proceeds will be directed to the Child Advocacy Center of Union County.
Registration can be completed online at www.runsignup.com/race/nj/linden/race4thechildren. The cost to register is $25, which includes a t-shirt. Any runner who is 18 years or under has a $10 fee to register.
According to organizers, the top three runners in the 5k race will receive a Visa gift card, valued at $250 for first place, $150 for second place, and $100 for third place.
The Child Advocacy Center of Union County provides wrap-around investigative, prosecutorial, psychological, medical, and mental health services to young victims of physical and sexual abuse.
Funds raised during this race will be committed to paying costs associated with mental health intake evaluation and treatment for children with post-traumatic stress disorder, suicidal ideation, and depression following the disclosure of sexual abuse.
This USATF-sanctioned route is a primarily flat course running through beautiful Warinanco Park. It extends through cordoned-off streets in Elizabeth to reach the Child Advocacy Center before heading back into the park toward the finish line.
