A woman suffered fatal injuries when a train struck her in the Bergen County town of Bergenfield this afternoon according to officials.
Authorities say the incident happened at around 2 p.m. when the unidentified female entered the tracks and was struck by the CSX train at West Main Street.
The Bergen County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification was summoned to collect evidence.
Police closed Main Street and re-routed traffic to Columbia Avenue and Church Street while they conducted the investigation.
There were no other injuries reported.
