Four-Year-Old Drowns in New Jersey Pond

Middlesex County authorities are investigating the tragic drowning of a four-year-old child in a pond in Monroe Township, officials reported on Wednesday.

Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone stated that the incident occurred on August 27, at approximately 6:48 p.m. when the Monroe Township Police Department received a 911 call about a missing child.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers began searching for the child and discovered the young victim unresponsive in a pond approximately 50 yards from the family's back deck.

Emergency responders immediately performed CPR on the child and rushed them to Princeton Medical Center.

Sadly, the child was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The investigation is ongoing, led by Detective Steven Menhart of the Monroe Township Police Department and Detective Stephanie Redline of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
