Four Displaced in Multi-Alarm Blaze in Elizabeth

The three-alarm fire tore through two homes leaving four people - two adults and two children - displaced.

According to officials on the scene, crews received numerous reports of heavy fire coming from the 600 block of Fulton Street around 5:35 p.m., sending multiple crews to the scene where thick smoke could be scene through town.

Arriving firefighters encountered two homes fully engulfed in flames officials said.The family escaped the burning structure unharmed.

The home where the fire appears to have started was vacant and boarded up, according to officials.

At this time, the roof of both homes have collapsed and the fire continues to burn.

There were no physical injuries reported to firefighters or residents at this time officials said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
