City narcotics detectives found four young children living in a 2nd Ward apartment targeted in a drug raid on Thursday, that led to the seizure of two handguns, 539 heroin packets and 246 grams of marijuana, according to officials.
The children’s father and mother – later identified as 29-year-old Kassan McNeil and 27-year-old Danuska Martinez - were both taken into custody from 354 Totowa Avenue, at approximately 5:34 p.m.
According to officials, McNeil and Martinez were charged with having two handguns – one .22-caliber and the other .40-caliber, along with 12 illegal hollow point bullets.
Both of them also were charged with violations of a law that bans convicted felons from having weapons, added police.
The children , who ranged from one year to eight years of age, were turned over to the state’s child protection agency, police said.
