A foot pursuit of two suspects wanted for carrying a weapon in the city's West Ward had police making arrests overnight.
The chase began on Alexander Street around 11:15 p.m. when officers received reports of a person in possession of a firearm at that location.
Authorities approached the area and began their search for a black male suspect who was reportedly wearing a hockey jacket with dreads.
Units spotted the suspect and attempted to investigate the report when the suspect and another male began to run northbound on Alexander Street according to reports.
Officers engaged in the foot pursuit were able to catch up with one of the suspects in the area of West End Avenue and 18th Avenue.
The remaining suspect was apprehended a short distance away in Irvington.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
