Food Delivery Person Carjacked in Downtown Newark

Police officials in Newark request the public’s help in locating the suspect who carjacked a moped from a food delivery worker on July 19. SupportAccording to Director Fragé, the incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. when the worker arrived with a food order at an apartment building in the 900 block of Broad Street.

After parking his vehicle in the parking lot, the suspect struck the worker in the back of the head, causing him to fall to the ground unconscious.

Director Frage said the suspect then took the red 2023 Jiajue Moped and drove away westbound on West Kinney Street, then onto Vine Street.
