Paterson Police are looking into the motive behind a shooting that caused property damage in a section of the city on Monday.
Late-night gunfire rang out in the vicinity of Madison and Essex streets around 11:05 p.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found multiple shell casings after a gunman repeatedly fired rounds in the community before fleeing the scene.
Police say after officers canvassed the scene, they found shell casings enter the second-floor apartment of a home, but no one inside was struck by bullets.
According to police, an unoccupied vehicle was also hit by gunfire.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
