A fireplace is to blame for a Sunday evening fire in Roselle.
Crews responded to the 300 block of Amsterdam Avenue shortly before 5:30 p.m. for a report of a house fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a smoke filled home which was quickly extinguished, according to fire officials.
It appears that the old fire place caused the floor under the fireplace to burn quickly filling the home with smoke, officials added.
There were no injuries reported.
