Firefighters in Union extinguished a fast-moving fire that broke out inside a large three-story house this afternoon.

Crews were called to 1015 Sterling Road after receiving reports of a fire shortly before 1 p.m.
Upon their arrival, firefighters observed smoke and flames tearing through the rear of the house on the second level.
Firefighters were able to knock down the flames in under an hour, but the fire caused significant damage to the house.
There were no trapped occupant or injuries reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
