Firefighters in Jersey City battled a fire that ignited inside a building in the city Tuesday morning.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters were dispatched to fire inside a building located at 27 Monticello Avenue at approximately 1:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, offcials said crews found smoke coming from a four-story occupied building.
Crews were able to locate the seat of the fire inside an apartment then extinguished the blaze in under a half-hour.
Officials say, about four victims required medical attention for non-life threatening injuries.
The America Red Cross provided displacement assistance for over a dozen residents. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Jersey City Fire Fighters.
