Firefighters Battle Ferocious 4-Alarm Building Fire in Bayonne

Late Friday night, a large fire erupted in a Bayonne building, prompting a joint response from Jersey City and Bayonne fire departments.AdThe fire, reported around 10:57 p.m., broke out in a residence in the 30's block of West 11th Street. Community members first noticed flames emerging from the house.

Upon arrival, firefighting crews quickly deployed six lines to combat the blaze, which fully engulfed the building.

As the fire started to spread to adjacent homes, officials escalated the situation to four alarms to bring in additional manpower.

More than two dozen firefighters exerted intense efforts to control the massive fire, which was finally subdued by approximately 1:30 a.m.

AdAlthough firefighters managed to bring the main fire under control, they remained on-site to address any remaining hotspots from the still-smoldering structure.

No serious injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
