Firefighters in Newark battled a fire that tore through a building in Newark on Tuesday morning.
According to preliminary reports, the fast-moving fire broke out in a three-story building located in the 500 block of North 13th Street just before midnight.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and found fire spreading throughout all three floors with live wires falling at that location.
PSEG crews were called to the scene before firefighters could begin extinguishing the blaze.
The fire was brought under control in under an hour with a search of the structure for trapped and injured occupants coming back negative.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
