A multi-alarm fire that ripped through a house in Newark injured a firefighter last Wednesday night.
According to a statement released by Newark Fire officials, at approximately 6:30 p.m., about 18 fire companies responded to the two-story, wood frame residential building located at 79 South 10th Street on a three-alarm call.
Heavy fire tore through the roof of the structure destroying the structure.
Officials say at least one family was evacuated and displaced due to the fire, but there were no residents.
EMS transported a firefighter to University Hospital where he sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries officials said.
The cause and origin of this fire is under investigation by the Newark Fire Division’s Arson Unit.
