Police in Paterson are investigating a head-on collision Saturday night that led to the discovery of a firearm and a search for multiple suspects who fled the scene.
The crash occurred around 9:20 p.m. near the intersection of Madison Avenue and 21st Avenue.
Responding officers found two vehicles involved in a head-on collision, with several individuals suffering non-life-threatening injuries. EMS units arrived to treat the injured.
During the investigation, police determined that one of the vehicles was stolen based on a registration check.
Several males occupying the stolen car reportedly fled the scene on foot and remain at large.
While processing the scene, officers discovered a firearm inside the stolen vehicle, prompting a response from the Crime Scene Unit.
Authorities are actively searching for the suspects and are urging anyone with information to contact Paterson Police.
The investigation remains ongoing.
