Monmouth County authorities are investigating an overnight house fire that fatally injured one person.
Firefighters responded to several 911 calls for a fire that broke inside a house located in the 800 block of Walling Ave. shortly before 1 a.m. Upon arrival to the scene, crews were informed of a trapped occupant inside the house.
Crews rushed inside the house where they located one person unconscious and unresponsive. The victim was later pronounced dead.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control in a little over an hour.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
