According to authorities, at approximately 1:05 pm, the Plainfield Fire Division responded to a single family structure fire in the 600 block of Clinton Avenue, Plainfield.
The fire took some time to control as mutual aid responded from the surrounding towns and assisted accordingly.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but does not appear suspicious at this time authorities said.
The home has been deemed unsafe.
The Red Cross has been notified and will find placement for the residents.
There are no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters.
