After an extended stretch of bone-dry conditions, residents in Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to a welcome sight this Veterans Day—rain.FilmWith light showers covering the area, NWS meteorologist says some parts of North Jersey are expected to receive around a quarter of an inch, a modest but much-needed addition to local water levels after weeks of drought-like conditions.

These prolonged dry spells recently heightened fire risks, leading to multiple forest fires across the state. Tragically, an 18-year-old firefighter lost his life battling the New Jersey/New York wildfire in Sterling Forest.

According to the National Weather Service, today’s forecast includes a 30 percent chance of rain early this morning. Cloud cover is expected to lift gradually as the day progresses.

Temperatures will reach a high near 68°F, accompanied by a west wind of 11 to 15 mph. Tonight, skies are expected to clear, with lows around 47°F.

RLS Media extends gratitude to all veterans on this Veterans Day, honoring their service in protecting the freedoms we cherish.Film
