Newark Police has taken over the investigation into a stabbing that left a man injured on a NJ Transit bus on Friday evening.
According to police, the incident unfolded at approximately 4:55 p.m.,
Officers were called to investigate reports of a physical altercation on a #62 bus at Broad and Parkhurst streets.
Police said when they arrived, they found a male bleeding after he was attacked with a sharp object by a man who engaged him in a physical altercation.
The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
NJ Transit officials said the bus was headed to Newark International Airport during the incident and the bus driver was not injured in the attack.
