Port Authority Police are investigating a physical alercation that left a PATH train conductor injured this morning in Jersey City.
Details regarding the apparent fight that involved the conductor and an unidentified person are limited but according to initial reports, police responded to the Grove Street Station on reports of a fight in progress that broke out at around 4:25 a.m.
Arriving units located the conductor who was suffering an unspecified injury and needed immediate medical attention according to reports.
The conductor was transported via EMS to Jersey City Medical Center in an unknown condition.
EMS also evaluated the other person involved in the fight for injuries according to reports.
Police investigating the altercation examined surveillance cameras at the station in an effort to identify the motive behind the altercation.
Authorities pulled the train out of service causing some delays in the system,
There were no immediate arrests reported.
