My friends and family in Newark and the North Jersey region are facing a cold start to their day, with early risers at 4:30 a.m. quickly awakened by brisk winds that are set to persist. The wind is not just a morning greeting but a day-long companion, significantly impacting the day's real-feel temperatures.
Despite the sunny skies, it's going to feel much colder, with temperatures feeling more like they're in the 30s throughout the day, making a coat an essential item for anyone stepping outside.
The National Weather Service forecasts a high near 43 degrees today, but don't let that number fool you. Wind chill values between 15 and 25 degrees will make it feel much colder.
The wind, coming from the west at 15 to 20 mph, adds a breezy chill to the already cool air.
The clear skies continue tonight, but the temperature drops to a low of around 26 degrees.
Make sure you're dressed warmly to enjoy your day and night in these brisk conditions comfortably.
