NJ State Police officials are looking into a crash that killed the driver of a truck on a state highway in Elizabeth.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the northbound lanes of the NJ Turnpike near exit 13A before 1:45 a.m. to investigate reports of a crash with injuries.
Emergency responders and rescue crews arrived at the scene and found an overturned milk truck that struck another a concrete barrier, flipped over, and burst into flames.
As a result of the crash, an unidentified driver of one of the trucks was killed and milk spilled onto the roadway.
State Troopers closed all lanes on the highway for the cleanup.
The official cause of the crash remains under investigation.
