A female suffered non-life threatening injuries after being slashed during an altercation in Newark's West Ward Saturday evening.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to the 6th Street and 14th Avenue area after receiving information of an injured person shortly before 5:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found the female suffering a slash wound to her face.
She was treated for her injury and is expected to recover.
The circumstances behind the assault remain under investigation.
