Police are on the search for a suspect who committed an armed carjacking on Monday evening in Linden.
According to Linden Police officials, the incident occurred just before 6:00 p.m. last night.
Police say victim, a FedEx truck driver, stated that she was driving on North Stiles Street approaching Valley Road when she was involved in a motor vehicle collision.
Police officials say the driver stated that when the vehicles pulled over a man exited the other vehicle, brandished a handgun, and demanded the keys to the truck.
According to police, both vehicles reportedly fled the scene traveling north toward Raritan Road.
The suspect is described as a tall black man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark colored jeans, and a face mask according to police.
The incident remains under investigation by the Linden Police Detective Bureau, and anyone with information is urged to contact Det. Mike Burnette at (908) 474-8535.
