Union County officials have issued a public statement addressing recent reports of unusual drone activity in the area.According to information released by the Union County Prosecutor's Office, Union County Board of County Commissioners Chairperson Barel Thy, Union County President David Hart, and Public Safety Director Dennis Burke announced that authorities are closely monitoring the situation in collaboration with federal and state agencies.
“We are working in partnership with the FBI, New Jersey State Police, and the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness to investigate this activity,” the statement said. “At this time, there is no known threat to public safety.”
Officials are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any relevant information about drone activity.
Tips can be submitted to the FBI by calling **1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324)** or through the online portal at **tips.fbi.gov**.
Videos and other evidence can also be uploaded directly via the FBI's website.
For more information about drones, also referred to as Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), residents can visit the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness website. The Union County Prosecutor's Office emphasizes that while there is currently no indication of a threat, public awareness and reporting remain essential to maintaining community safety.
