FBI Identify Newark Ironbound Bank Robbery Suspect

Authorities in Newark are continuing their search for a male suspect who is accused of robbing a Lusitania Saving Bank early this afternoon.

Police were called to the 100 block Pulaski Street at approximately 12:30 p.m. for a report of a robbery in progress.

According to a Newark FBI spokesperson, the suspect was described as a white male in his 20's, and is approximately 5'6" tall with a goatee.

The suspect was last seen fleeing on foot towards East Kinney Street the spokesperson said.

A manager at the bank told RLS Metro Breaking News that she did not recall a robbery happening at the bank this afternoon and referred questions to another manager.

Several phone messages left for the bank manager were not returned.

The FBI spokesperson said that no one was injured.
