Late Wednesday night, a tragic incident occurred in Union Township, where a pedestrian was fatally struck by a train near Kean University on Green Lane.
The incident, which happened around 10:30 p.m., has prompted a thorough investigation by authorities.
Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered an unidentified individual lying unconscious and unresponsive on the tracks. Despite emergency response efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the location.
The area, being a route for NJ Transit and freight trains, is being investigated to determine which train was involved in the fatal incident.
Currently, no other injuries have been reported in connection with this incident.
