A fatal shooting that took place in Plainfield Thursday night is under investigation, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced Friday.
The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Hakeem T. Young of Plainfield.
Plainfield Police Division patrol units responding to a report of gunshots being fired rushed to the 900 block of North Avenue shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday and found Young, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
This matter remains under active joint investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force, the Plainfield Police Division, and the Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit.
