Fatal Shooting Under Investigation; Victim Identified as Atlantic City Man

An Atlantic City man died last night, the apparent victim of a shooting, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.

Last night, at approximately 11:15 p.m., Atlantic City police responded to Magellan Avenue as a result of a call to 9-1-1. 

Upon arrival, they found a man lying dead on the 2000 block of Magellan Avenue, the apparent victim of gunshot wounds.

The victim was identified as Leon Garrison, 32, of North Massachusetts Avenue, Atlantic City. He was pronounced dead at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center—City Division at 11:42 p.m. 

Next-of-kin have been notified. An autopsy is pending.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene, and is investigating the deaths with the Atlantic City Police Department.
