Jersey City Police officials are investigating a shooting that caused fatal injuries at a location in the city overnight.
According to police, at approximately 10:30 p.m., police responded to an incident where gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 66 Brinkerhoff Street.
Units arrived and requested EMS in a rush after locating an unidentified person suffering gunshot wounds to the abdomen at that location.
Officials said in a press release that The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are leading the investigation into the fatal shooting
The suspect has been apprehended and arrested.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
