Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson are investigating a homicide in the city today.
Camden County Police were alerted shortly after 4 p.m. on Saturday by the ShotSpotter system to gunfire in the area of the 700 block of S. 8th Street in Camden.
Officers arrived and found Corey Morton, 24, of Camden, lying in an alley between two buildings on the 700 block of S. 8th Street.
He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 4:41 p.m.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
