A shooting in Jersey City has claimed the life of a male victim and left a woman with injuries, as confirmed by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit alongside the Jersey City Police Department.
The incident took place around 9 p.m. in the vicinity of Central Avenue and Bowers Street, prompting law enforcement to respond to reports of gunfire.
Upon their arrival, police discovered a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her leg and a male victim who had been hit multiple times, found in a lifeless state.
Emergency medical services rushed both victims to Jersey City Medical Center, where the male victim was pronounced dead shortly after.
As authorities get deeper into the investigation, the motive behind this violent act remains a crucial question, with officials actively piecing together the events that led to the shooting.
No arrests have been made thus far, indicating that the search for the perpetrator(s) is ongoing.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office and the Jersey City Police Department are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward as their combined efforts continue in pursuit of justice for the victims and their families.
