The NJ State Attorney General's Office are investigating a police-involved shooting that left one person dead in Hardwick on Tuesday night.
It happened at approximately 9 p.m. in the 40's block of Sunset Lake Road where police responded to the area after receiving reports of a person with a weapon believed to be a knife.
According to reports, NJ State Police officers arrived at the scene and confronted the suspect who apparently would not drop the weapon.
Police opened fire striking the suspect as a result of the confrontation reports said.
Medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The incident remains under active investigation.
