Authorities in Hunterdon County are currently investigating a tragic incident that occurred on Saturday night in Glen Gardner, resulting in the death of a pedestrian.
The accident happened just before 10 p.m. near 2127 NJ-31, where police and emergency medical services were called to the scene.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered a person lying on the ground with severe injuries, having been struck by a vehicle.
Despite immediate efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the location shortly after the incident.
The State Regional Medical Examiner's Office was summoned to assist with the investigation.
Details regarding the vehicle involved in the strike are still unclear, including whether it remained at the scene following the accident.
Hunterdon County authorities are urging witnesses or anyone with information to come forward as they continue to piece together the circumstances leading to this unfortunate loss of life.
